| Книги: | 1. Arthur C. Clarke's 5 page story won the Hugo award, and rightly so... even now, all these years later it stands the test of time. It is available to read online in pdf form, and I am sure it can be translated... Well worth anyone's time, if nothing else... read it!!! As for books, I prefer intellectual and or spiritual styled books, such as, The City of God, WRITTEN by Saint Augustine~ (Most people would never imagine that some of his work was considered worthy enough to add to the "official" New Testament, also known as the Gospels.) The Parable of the Wicked Mammon, WRITTEN by William Tyndale~ He translated the New Testament, (the Gospels) into its first English form and was killed for it by the Catholic church, afterwards his work was approved of so highly by the Church that they wrote the very first "King James Version" of the bible in English. and of course I recommend everyone own a copy of his translation of the bible and the first KVJ of the bible to see how closely they truly were... anyway, enough on that subject. The Republic, WRITTEN by Plato~ I think many would be able to understand why, however I recommend reading this along with the above book I mentioned entitled "The city of God", due to the fact that they complement one another, while staying unique in stance. The Snow Queen, The little Match Girl, The little Mermaid, (original) All 3 children's stories WRITTEN by Hans Christian Andersen~ I am sure there are a few others, but usually it is smaller pieces within a collective body of work that I cleave to, versus entire collections and or artist... I say that even with true biblical works, so it is no offense to these writers... I like certain short stories such as, The Last Leaf WRITTEN by O'Henry The Happy Prince WRITTEN by Oscar Wilde The Nightingale WRITTEN by Oscar Wilde To be continued at another time.... |
| Интересы: | Nothing personal, but I am NOT interested in extremist, religious fanaticism - especially those who are prone to violence, even if it is in a passive - aggressive form. I enjoy debate, but prefer just seeing other people's perspectives, (I have to say however, I am honestly done hearing about Islamic/Muslim views, my apologies but it's overplayed and annoying at this point)... I like the notion of exchanging ideas on any given subject, etc. I am NOT at all liberal, but I can tolerate most, after all I live in America... however I have no personal interest in gay rights, interracial relations, and other issues that I find a bore, or that really don't apply to me. Hummm, think that should give a slight glimpse into my thinking, maybe not... we shall see... R~ |
